Questions & Answers

Everything you need to know before creating your ring.

RingItOn is designed to make personal jewellery feel clear, visual and less intimidating — from your first idea to a silver sample or final precious-metal piece.

A guided design journey

Start with meaning, not technical knowledge.

You do not need to understand CAD, jewellery manufacturing or stone setting. RingItOn guides you through simple design choices so a name, letter, date, stone or symbol can become a makeable piece of jewellery.

1. What is RingItOn?

Answer

RingItOn is a guided online jewellery design experience. Instead of only choosing from ready-made rings, you can start with something personal — a name, initial, date, symbol, stone or memory — and shape it into a ring design.

The aim is not to make you operate a technical CAD program. The aim is to help you turn a personal idea into something visual, wearable and makeable.

2. How is this different from normal jewellery personalisation?

Answer

Normal personalisation often means engraving a small message onto an existing design. RingItOn goes further: the personal element can become part of the design structure itself.

  • A letter can become the ring feature.
  • A name can become the shape of the design.
  • A stone colour can represent a birth month or memory.
  • A symbol can become part of the jewellery, not just an add-on.

3. Is the builder easy to use?

Answer

Yes. RingItOn is intentionally guided and simple. You follow the design steps, make choices visually, and see the idea take shape. Expert options may exist for extra flexibility, but the main journey is designed to feel clear and approachable.

It should feel more like creating a meaningful gift than learning software.

4. Why should I design it myself?

Answer

Designing it yourself makes the piece more personal. You are not only picking a product — you are shaping the meaning behind it.

  • You can create something connected to your own story.
  • You can see the idea before it is made.
  • You stay closer to the design decisions.
  • You can adjust the idea before committing to the final piece.

5. What can I expect to spend?

Answer

The final price depends on the material, stone choice, size, design complexity and whether you choose a silver sample first or go straight to the final piece.

As a general direction, RingItOn is best suited to meaningful jewellery in silver, 9ct gold, 18ct gold or platinum, with options for CZ, gemstones, lab-grown diamonds or natural diamonds.

A silver sample can be a lower-pressure way to experience the design before moving into a more valuable final version.

6. Do I need to pay a deposit first?

Answer

Rather than focusing on a deposit, RingItOn is designed to help you build confidence before the final jewellery is made.

For some designs, you may choose a sterling silver and CZ sample first. This lets you see and feel the design in real life before deciding whether to upgrade to gold, platinum, gemstones or diamonds.

  • Good for checking size and scale.
  • Helpful for gifts where confidence matters.
  • More tangible than only seeing a render on screen.
  • Creates a natural path toward the final keepsake.

7. How do I place an order?

Answer
  • Go to the Design page.
  • Choose the builder that best matches your idea.
  • Personalise the design with letters, names, stones, size or layout options.
  • Preview the design visually.
  • Choose whether to make a silver sample first or proceed to the final material.
  • Confirm the material, stone, size and production details.
  • Your piece is then made, finished and prepared for delivery.

8. Can I design without signing up?

Answer

You may be able to try selected builders without signing up. Saving your design, receiving it by email, accessing more builders or placing an order may require sign-in so your design and order information can be protected.

9. Can I export my design as a 3D file?

Answer

Some designs may allow STL export for 3D printing. However, the main purpose of RingItOn is not to sell files — it is to help you create jewellery that can become a real finished piece.

STL export can be useful for testing, visualising or printing a sample, but precious-metal jewellery still needs proper production, setting and finishing.

10. Can I 3D print the design at home?

Answer

If you purchase or receive a compatible STL file, you may be able to print it using a home 3D printer or a printing service. Home printing is useful for checking the look and scale, but it is not the same as a finished jewellery piece.

11. What materials can I choose?

Answer

Depending on the design, options may include sterling silver, 9ct gold, 18ct gold and platinum. Stone options may include CZ, gemstones, lab-grown diamonds and natural diamonds.

Material choice affects appearance, durability, price and how special the finished piece feels.

12. Do you offer lab-grown and natural diamonds?

Answer

Yes. RingItOn can work with lab-grown diamonds and natural diamonds depending on the design and budget. Lab-grown diamonds are often a practical option when the goal is visual impact and value, while natural diamonds may suit customers who prefer traditional rarity.

13. Can I use gemstones that are not listed in the builder?

Answer

Yes, in many cases. If you have a particular gemstone, colour or meaning in mind, contact us at wecare@ringiton.com.au. We can check whether the stone is suitable for the design and whether it can be sourced.

14. Can I order a large diamond engagement ring?

Answer

Yes. If you are looking for a larger centre stone, email us with your preferred diamond size, shape and quality direction. We can provide guidance and a personalised quotation.

RingItOn is especially suitable when the engagement ring also needs a personal element, not just a standard centre-stone setting.

15. What if I do not know my ring size?

Answer

Ring size is important. You can request a ring sizer or confirm your size before final production. A silver sample may also help you feel the scale and comfort before making the final version.

16. Can custom-made jewellery be returned?

Answer

Custom-made jewellery is made specifically for one person and usually cannot be restocked like a standard shelf item. Please refer to our return page for more information.

This is why RingItOn focuses on previewing, confirming details and offering a sample path where suitable.

17. How long does it take to receive my order?

Answer

Timing depends on the design, material, stone sourcing and production requirements. As a general guide, custom jewellery may take around two to four weeks.

Silver samples may be simpler than final precious-metal pieces, while more complex designs or special stones may take longer.

18. Can I track my order?

Answer

Yes. Once your order is placed, progress can be updated as the piece moves through the custom-making process. You can log in and check your account/order area for updates.

19. Are there other builders apart from rings?

Answer

RingItOn currently focuses on ring builders, because rings are personal, wearable and suitable for the guided design model. More jewellery types may be added later as the platform develops.

20. How do I contact customer support?

Answer

You can contact us by email at wecare@ringiton.com.au. If your question is about a design, please include screenshots, your saved design details or the style you are considering.

Start with the story. Make the jewellery when it feels right.

RingItOn is for people who want something more personal than a stock ring, without needing a complicated custom-design appointment.
